An Ecology Unit (Pollution Control Unit) utilizes a Multistage Filtration strategy to systematically remove grease, smoke, and odors. The Anatomy of the Filtration Stack

We design our units with a cascading logic, where each stage protects the next, extending the life of your M&E assets and reducing TNB electricity costs.

Stage 1: Mechanical Pre-Filtration (The Gatekeeper)

This stage uses G4 or MERV 8 synthetic media or stainless steel mesh to capture large grease particles and dust.

  • The Purpose: To prevent "Heavy Grease Loading" on the sensitive electronic stages.

  • M&E Impact: If this stage is neglected, grease will coat the downstream sensors and filters, causing the system to "choke."

Stage 2: Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) (The Smoke Scrubber)

The ESP is the most critical component for smoke removal.

  • Ionization: It uses high-voltage (12kV) ionizing wires to give smoke particles an electrical charge.

  • Collection: The charged particles are then pulled onto grounded collection plates, removing up to 95% of sub-micron oily mist.

  • Activated Carbon: Uses molecular adsorption to "trap" odors in porous pellets.

  • UV-C/Ozone: Uses ultraviolet light to chemically break down grease and odor molecules via photolysis and oxidation.

  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Modulation:

    Multistage units create significant resistance. We program the VSD/VFD to monitor the pressure drop. As filters "load" with grease, the VFD automatically ramps up the Blower Fan to maintain constant suction at the kitchen hood.

  • Building Pressure Management:

    We calibrate the system to maintain a slight Positive Pressure in the dining area relative to the kitchen. This "Pressure Shield" ensures all smoke is forced through the filtration stack and prevents odors from leaking out to your customers.

  • Fire Safety (BOMBA) Interlock:

    Our units are integrated with the building's fire alarm system. In the event of a high-temperature detection, the ESP power packs shut down instantly to prevent electrical ignition of grease.
